Abstract
The simultaneous occurrence of gestational trophoblastic neoplasia and a live fetus is a rare phenomenon, with an estimated incidence of one in 10,000 to one in 100,000 pregnancies, Sonography has become a crucial tool in recent years for
confirming the
diagnosis of such entities. When a fetus is identified in this syndrome, it is rarely alive at diagnosis, and generally manifests a constellation of congenital anomalies associated with triploidy.
We report here an unusual pregnancy in which ultrasound examination revealed a markedly abnormal, diffuse molar placenta coexistent with a living fetus.
